Linear Microsystems has been chosen for the development of a Jet Engine Controller ASIC
NEWS RELEASE
Linear Microsystems, Inc. has been chosen for the development of a Jet Engine Controller ASIC that operates over an extended temperature range (-55 to 225 deg. C).
Irvin, CA – November 9, 2020 – Linear MicroSystems, Inc., a fabless semiconductor company that provides high performance ASICs for a variety of applications, announced today that it was chosen for a proprietary development of a digital ASIC that operates over an extended temperature range (-55 to 225 deg. C).
This ASIC is a part of a 2-chip System-on-a-Chip (SoC) for use in a jet engine controller that is targeted towards military and commercial aircraft propulsion systems, as well as in other applications where high temperature operation is essential. Due to this extended temperature range and the requirement for a U.S. on-shore foundry, this ASIC will be fabricated in SkyWater Technology’s Rad-Hard 90nm SOI (Silicon-on-Insulator) process (RH90).
